Benzema became a star by scoring 2 goals and 1 assist
Even though they had difficulties, Real Madrid still managed to come out as winners in the matchday 28 of LaLiga on Tuesday (15/3/2022) early morning WIB. Los Blancos won full points after beating Mallorca at the Son Moix Stadium with a 3-0 score.
Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. became the players who managed to score goals in that match. Here are five interesting notes that happened in Mallorca’s match against Real Madrid.
1. Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr are getting closer
Carlo Ancelotti immediately played two of his mainstay strikers, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr, since the early minutes against Mallorca. The cooperation of the two players was seen again in this match. Benzema had provided an assist to Vinicius in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s second goal came from a Mallorca player foul in the penalty box for Vinicius who received a pass from Karim Benzema. Karim Benzema also managed to execute a penalty kick.
Now, Benzema and Vinicius have combined eight goals in LaLiga for the 2021/2022 season. That record makes them the best duo in Europe’s top competition. Below them, there are two Bayer Leverkusen players, Florian Wirtz and Patrik Schick, who have combined seven goals.
2. Karim Benzema could break his own record
For Karim Benzema, age is just a number. The proof, the French striker continues to look charming with Real Madrid even though he is no longer young. Now the striker has recorded a total of 32 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
The score equaled his best goal record with Real Madrid in the 2011/2012 season. At that time, Benzema played impressively under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. Given the competition still has a number of games to go, it is likely that Benzema will break his own record.

The win over Mallorca left Real Madrid unbeaten in their last nine LaLiga matches which took place on Monday Spanish time. Of all these matches, Los Blancos were able to win seven matches and the rest ended in a draw.
The last time Real Madrid lost in a match on Monday was in November 2010. Real Madrid was slaughtered by rivals, Barcelona, with a score of 0-5 at Camp Nou.
4. Real Madrid played with ten players
After scoring the second goal in the 82nd minute, Karim Benzema had to be withdrawn due to an injury. However, because they have used all the substitutions, Real Madrid was forced to play with ten players from the 86th minute.
