Non-penetrative sex positions for saucy foreplay – from peep show to bent spoon

If your normal routine needs a bit of jazzing up, it may be a good idea to try something different. These positions are sure to please you, and they don’t involve any penetration

Everyone needs to mix up their bedroom antics now and again to keep that spark alive – but good sex doesn’t always have to involve penetration.

A lot can be said for other moves, which don’t involve going to fourth base, but do promise a lot of pleasure.

To help you think outside the box when it comes to hitting the spot, a sex therapist has revealed some extra saucy moves you can try that are sure to give you a different – but extremely saucy – experience between the sheets.

Writing for Men’s Health Sex Therapist Rachel Wright said: “I like to use sex as a catch-all term for ‘a meaningful act of pleasure.’

“Does that say anything about penetration? No. Anything about gender? No. Anything about orgasm? No. Anything about specific body parts? No.

“There is nothing wrong with enjoying penetrative sex; it’s just not the only way to have sex.”

You may not realise it but there are many people who don’t reach the Big O from simply performing penetrative sex alone.

A 2017 study in the journal Sex and Marital Therapy revealed that only 18% of vulva owners orgasm from vaginal penetration alone so, when all is said and done, this essentially means you’ll need to do a lot more than this to ensure a vulva owner is fully pleasured.

We’re talking connection, arousal and lots of foreplay.

Not to mention it’s also super sexy to explore your partner’s body properly – taking the time to get to know a person’s pleasure points is never a bad thing.

In fact, it can be super hot.

To get the juices flowing here a few non-penetrative sex positions that are sure to get you feeling frisky.

Wright said the positions work to focus on things like grinding, hand action and all types of tongue work.

Peas in a pod
This move is both nostalgic and fun, and it should work to bring the younger side of yourself out.

It will definitely take you back to the days of kissing on your parents’ sofa, and it’s great to play around with the position as an adult.

To do it all you need to do is sit side by side, and then turn so your heads are facing each other.

It’s up to you how you mix it up – you could press your legs together, touch each other’s heads or simply just get lost in the moment kissing and fooling around a bit.

Against the wall
Sexperts say that learning to enjoy kissing and touching each other is one of the most vital things to do in the bedroom.

Touching – in all its shapes and forms – really helps to get people turned on, and we all know that being pressed up against a wall can be super hot.

To do it (once consent is granted) one person simply needs to push their partner up against the wall and hold them there, while kissing and caressing them wherever you desire.

Bent spoon
This move is thought to be steamy, intimate and is also super comfy.

It’s almost like doggy-style, apart from the fact that you’re lying down, and it’s a great move for all genders too.

All you need to do is spoon, but the partner in front needs to spread their legs and rise their knee at a 90-degree angle.

From here the other person can start touching their partner, and really get to know their body.

The 69
This position can often divide opinions, as people tend to love it or hate it.

But there are some real pros to the 69 oral sex position, because you can do lots of things to mix it up.

If you find it quite difficult to be on the top, you could simply perform the move by resting on your sides.

To try this one out you need to discover what works best for you, as one person may prefer being on top.

Once you’re both face-to-face with each other’s bits you can go to town with your tongues – just be sure to tell each other if you think you need to change things up a bit.

Good vibrations
We have to be honest with ourselves about one thing, and this is that sex toys can offer something that human bodies can’t.,our-elderly-neighbour-from-two-doors-down-pleasured-my-husband-at-a-seedy-sex-party/6

Nobody’s tongue can buzz like a vibrator, and neither can a finger, so it’s always a good idea to have one to hand.

Work together to pick a toy that works to stimulate external pleasure, and make sure using it excites you both.

Whenever you fancy trying it use it in different positions that you’d normally have sex in, and see what works best for you.

Oh, and make sure you have lube!

Peep show
As well as being a huge turn-on, this position can also be super educational.

Mutual masturbation is a great way to learn new things about each other, and discover what really turns your partner on.

One partner needs to sit on the bed in a comfortable position, and spread their legs.

From here they can start exploring their body, and touch themselves wherever feels right.

The other person needs to rest on their knees beneath their partner, and simply take in the view and learn what pleasures their partner the most.

Sit in my lap
If enhanced intimacy is what you’re after then this is a move for you.

Not to mention it also promises to deliver a lot of pleasure.

To give it a whirl one person needs to spread their legs, while their partner sits between them.

From here you can take it in turns to touch each other, and find out what you really like.

Remember to ask if they want you to pick up the pace, take things slower or adjust the pressure.
